Goal

To contribute to the prevention and control of HIV/AIDS by increasing awareness, promoting safe and healthy behaviors, reducing stigma and discrimination, and improving access to HIV prevention, testing, treatment, care, and support services.

Objective

  • - To increase knowledge and awareness among the target population about HIV/AIDS, its modes of transmission, and prevention methods.
  • - To promote safe and healthy behaviors to reduce the risk of HIV infection.
  • - To dispel myths, misconceptions, and misinformation related to HIV/AIDS.
  • - To reduce stigma and discrimination against people living with HIV/AIDS.
  • - To encourage HIV testing, counseling, and early access to appropriate health services.
  • - To improve awareness of available HIV/AIDS prevention, treatment, care, and support services.

Major Activities

  • - HIV/AIDS and STI awareness and behaviour change communication (BCC)
  • - Community outreach and peer education among key populations
  • - Condom promotion and distribution
  • - HIV counselling and testing (HCT) referral and support
  • - STI prevention, diagnosis, treatment and referral services
  • - Safe sex and reproductive health education
  • - Harm reduction interventions for Injecting Drug Users (IDUs), including needle and syringe programs
  • - Capacity building and training for healthcare providers, peer educators and community volunteers
  • - Advocacy, networking and community mobilization
  • - Information, Education and Communication (IEC) material development and dissemination
  • - Monitoring, evaluation, operational research and documentation
  • - Referral and linkage to HIV treatment, care and support services
  • - Anti-stigma and anti-discrimination awareness campaigns
