Safe Migration for Bangladeshi Workers
Goal
To promote safe, regular, and rights-based labour migration by strengthening the knowledge, capacity, protection, and access to services of aspiring and returning Bangladeshi migrant workers, thereby reducing the risks of exploitation, trafficking, and unsafe migration while maximizing the socio-economic benefits of migration.
Objective
- - Increase awareness among prospective migrant workers on safe and regular migration procedures, legal migration channels, and workers' rights.
- - Prevent fraud, exploitation, human trafficking, forced labour, and irregular migration through information, education, and community engagement.
- - Improve access to government migration services, legal assistance, and pre-departure support.
- - Enhance migrants' knowledge of employment contracts, wages, occupational safety, health, financial management, and remittance utilization.
- - Strengthen the capacity of migrant workers and their families to make informed migration decisions and manage migration-related risks.
- - Support the social and economic reintegration of returning migrant workers through livelihood and entrepreneurship opportunities.
- - Strengthen coordination among government agencies, recruitment agencies, financial institutions, civil society organizations, and local stakeholders to promote safe migration.

- - Financial literacy training, savings promotion, and effective remittance management.
- - Referral and linkage to government migration services, BMET registration, passport services, and legal aid.
- - Career counselling and skills development for overseas employment.
- - Entrepreneurship and livelihood support for returning migrants.
- - Psycho social counselling and reintegration support for returnee migrant workers.
- - Community dialogues involving local government, employers, recruitment agencies, and civil society.
- - Monitoring, documentation, case management, and referral support for vulnerable migrants.
